an assortment of things
Jun. 10th, 2008 04:09 pmNo, no riding this week, not with excessive heat warnings and 90+ degrees (Farenheit to appease
math5) predicted for my ride home. No thanks.
The event went off well, did not lose too much money, no cops, and no ambulances, though I had someone talk to me about the timing of the dayboard being set up when the archers were shooting.
Bought the tire pump for the bike on sunday, figured out today that this coming friday is my last day at this assignment. (My account was disabled, when I called to request it being activated again, they would only extend it to this friday). It's still good, the boss is taking us (me, and the two women I work with) out to lunch tomorrow.
Notified my agency so they can find me something else.
I've started working on a black silk kosode for Daishi, it won't be ready for this weekend, but it will be wearable for the evenings at Pennsic. I wouldn't recommend it for daytime wear, the cloth is too heavy. At the moment the work is putting a binding strip over all raw edges of the cloth. It's brocade, it's silk, it's going to fray like nobody's business. Thus far, the body panels and the sleeves have been bound. I need to make more binding tape ... lots of binding tape. Have to bind the front panels, and the collar, and make extra for where it gets cut at the neckline. Not lining this one, so at least there's that to not worry about.
