Tempest Music
Apr. 17th, 2011 01:18 pmWe drove out in the middle of a rain storm with the rain going all but horizontal (lots of horizontal rain) to a concert by Tempest with Full Frontal Folk opening for them, and getting hauled back on stage to help Leif & Co. with a couple of songs. They're always a fun group to watch, even if it seems like the second guitarist is a rotating spot (the current guy looks a bit like Garth from Wayne's World. The encore also featured Full Frontal Folk, and Tempest announced that they're playing at Phila Folk Fest (#50 of that). I couldn't tell you the songs (aside from the encore being "You Jacobites by Name", and the staples "Wizard's Walk", and "Buffalo Jump"), but I remember enjoying myself. My hands hurt afterwards from clapping.
Parking was a bear, and if we go to that venue again, we'll be heading there earlier. (hope they play there again, it's a great place, over a hundred years old, and featured in at least one movie).
I got Aldolfo's CD (Himself has all of the Tempest CD's, and a copy of Tempest's latest for a friend who couldn't go, and got both autographed. We gave them home made truffles (a bag for Leif, and another bag for the crew, because sharing doesn't seem to happen)
